‘Revellers enjoyed a unique Saturday night out when Alfresco Disco held their latest event in the city.
Alfresco Disco took over Bristol Wood Recycling’s base, in Cattle Market Road, for the party which featured a lined up of renowned musicians from the city.
Banoffee Pies, Futureboogie and Stamp The Wax all performed.
Luke Turner, one of the event’s organisers, said: “The atmosphere was really, really friendly and I’m happy a lot of people got to experience a part of Bristol they probably didn’t know too much about.
The festivities attracted 1,500 with the merrymakers only finding out the venue of the event last minute via social media.
Mr Turner said: “We like to keep things a little secret. We always do events in different kinds of venues and because of this we are not always able to have a regular pattern.
“This year we have done four as it is our 10th birthday and we wanted to do something special to commemorate that.”
On Saturday’s massive images were projected on to side of the former Parcel Force buildings by Limbic Cinema.
Mr Turner said: “We’ve also wanted to do something including the Parcel Force building, it was always difficult to do something there but to be able to project something on to the building was amazing.”
The organisers want to thank everyone who attended and was involved with the Alfresco Disco event.
Mr Turner said: “We loved working with the guys from the wood yard. We were privileged to work with them as they are very personable and their skills helped us make the event a success.”
Alfresco Disco has held parties in Austria, curated festival stages and are looking to organise more events in the South West.
Bristol is where the group made their name and Mr Turner said this year’s fun in the city might not be over just yet.
He said: “You never know, we do tend to do something over New Year so that could well be the time when we host something again.”‘
